Monotubes, or monofilament tubes, are containers located inĀ  popular fishing areas for fishing line disposal. While discarded monofilament can become a death threat for marine animals, each piece of monofilament that goes into a monotube is recycled. This Tampa Bay Watch program came to Pass-a-Grille through a partnership between TBW and BTS. Volunteers from Blue Turtle Society maintain these monotubes, along with a pair on Coquina Key, track the amount of line, and deliver the monofilament to TBW.
